This unique little subdivision has one very unique amenity – direct access to the Cameron Park Airport via aircraft taxiways. Once a vineyard, this flight-lovers community features wide streets, which double as taxiways, connecting residents’ homes to the adjacent airport. Many homes have hangars, which house personal aircraft, allowing residents to commute to and from the area entirely by air.
The 100’ taxiway streets were modified to accommodate light aircraft. With its underground utilities and shortened street signs, it was one of California’s first and most successful residential-aviation integrated subdivisions. The airport is also home to the Show N’ Shine & Fly-In every fall, featuring vintage aircraft and classic cars.
The Cameron Park Country Club is not far, and offers many family amenities, including a heated pool and junior golf programs. The Cameron Park Lake offers more rustic swimming, in the lagoon, which is open daily during the summer months. There are also tennis courts, a playground, fishing, trails, and picnic area. The Lake is also home to the area’s Summer Spectacular, a large community gathering in late June, featuring music, arts and crafts, and fireworks.
Cameron Park is a rural mix of large ranches, residential, and commercial property. Nearby attractions include Bass Lake, the American River, and Apple Hill. Downtown Sacramento is just 35 miles away and the shores and slopes of Lake Tahoe are just a convenient 90-minute drive.
